Asus Eee PC 1001P and Lenovo ThinkPad notebook – My Two Favorites
Buying a laptop these days can be pretty tricky because there are lots of brands out there looking vying for your attention. I have been following the laptop market for years and hence all my friends consult me before buying their laptop. Looking at what the market currently has to offer, my two favorites are Lenovo ThinkPad notebook and Asus Eee PC 1001P. Apart from that, I have short listed two more. Make sure you go through these laptops before buying one.
Â
1. Sony â There is no specific model number; they are all really great. I have written a lot of Sony laptop reviews over the years, and have seen that these notebooks are a bit costly. Sony gives a lot of importance to the look of their products and hence puts in a lot of eye candy. You mostly pay more for the good looks and not better performance. But there are also some Sony laptops costing more and giving mind blowing performance.
Â
2. Dell Inspiron Mini 10v Netbook â Dell has always been really good in making notebooks but I am mentioning a Netbook here since it is a bit different from others out there. I liked this computer because it gives a lot of features that you'd find only on more expensive Netbooks. The price of the Mini 10v is kept below 0 and hence the deal is mouth watering. The chassis of this unit too feels good.
Â
The Mini 10v is not perfect though, I didn't like that Dell doesn't give as many configuration options as that on the other Netbooks. The screen doesn't have that edge-to-edge glass found on the Mini 10 either. I would still recommend this Netbook as it gives excellent value for money.
Â
3. Lenovo ThinkPad notebook â Lenovo ThinkPad notebooks are made for business users and the best thing about these laptops is the comfortable keyboard. I have two Lenovo notebooks to recommend; get the one that suits you the most
Â
Lenovo ThinkPad X201 3626 â This is a small 12 inch laptop housing a very powerful processor, the battery life is really good and the build quality too is excellent.
Â
Lenovo ThinkPad X100e â It has one of the best keyboard I have ever seen in a Netbook. The screen is matte which is seldom found in laptops or Netbooks these days.
Â
4. Asus Eee PC 1001P â This laptop is again made for people who think looks are very important. I was a bit wary about sexy looks, as I assumed that the manufacturer would charge more for it. However, the price is kept at 9 which is really good. The battery life of this Netbook too is on par with other products in the competition. On the flip side, this computer doesn't have any thing out of the box as compared to other Netbooks in the market. The hardware inside is the same. I would still recommend this to you owing to the good looks and low price.

I would say to give it a shot on the netbook. We have QB 2010 Premier and QBES running on a netbook in our workplace and it works fantastic. You can not install it on a flash drive instead, it wants to be on the local machine.

Lenovo S10 Notebook Review- Full review of Lenovo’s new netbook
It has an Intel Atom processor at 1.6ghz, 512mb RAM, and a 10.2" LED backlit screen. Nonetheless, some things had been made to be for the greater concerning with what options feature a netbook. Not all netbooks Are identical, but for the S10 it has some neat tricks up it is lid, and some standards it needs to realize...
The S10 can come in a selection of colors, but they all have one point in common â they are proportionate, and carry nice style aesthetics. Of the netbooks offered, I must say the lines from the S10 are some of the most appealing. Our model is a pearl-escent white â featuring a three-cell battery. Everything seems to flow, from the latchless lid, reasonably thin bezel surround, and attractive chrome like accents...if you can't tell, the S10 does excel within the design department.
The S10 size measures in at creating it a 9.8" x 7.two" x 1.1", which is a bit thinner than the MSI Wind we just lately reviewed, and being that it only incorporated a 3-cell battery rather than a 6-cell option considering that the Wind, it weighs a little bit much less too tipping the scale in at a couple of.4 pounds. It is really evenly balanced, generating computing 1 hand rather basic with the S10.
The keyboard for a ten.two" netbook, is instead cramped. I don't know what happened, as I'm typically awestruck utilizing the keyboards on Lenovo's lately, but this model, does not strike the very same emotion. It' s not just the cramped feeling, it's the actual placement of some keys and omission of other individuals. For example, I'm not sure who's thought it was to decrease a mute button (or fn combination for instance) but it doesn't exist that I could find. I'm not 1 to believe about what requirements to occur when I want my volume to mute â I just press the buttons and be completed with it. With the S10, this is not an choice. Also, I'm not positive the explanation for having a FN F11 to restore F12 â but it could be in part that the tilde crucial is so apparent is not component of the regular crucial layout that seemingly the rest of the laptop planet has adopted. Yet another point, I'm not positive, but I think "backspace" is 1 word, and not two words mashed together producing it "BackSpace" - but I could be very wrong, somebody right me here...but Lenovo thinks it's BackSpace...and I don't agree.
Amongst those, there are two odd sized layout keys I locate on the S10: the smallest tab key due to the fact my smartphone and the right shift key. Not my selection of use or size.
The trackpad even so is a excellent 1 â firm and consistent travel, nevertheless the buttons are rather noisy along with a small stiff. I don't know if these function out over time, but as far as I'm concerned â the touch choice on the Snyaptics touchpad ought to suffice most users (and the reality it's a Synaptics touchpad and not a Sentellic off-shoot) with its side scrolling purpose, makes points manageable albeit tolerable for such a tiny touch region.
At 10.two" along with a resolution of 1024x600, it follows the very same suite as the MSI Wind â but it's not as sharp and the viewing agles are a bit off. They're about the identical because the Wind, but I discover the Wind's LCD having a lot a lot more contrast and brightness.
The S10 capabilities a nice quantity of connectivity alternatives for this cost range and target audience who are into extreme mobility and form factor.
The left side from the S10 functions an exhaust port, VGA out, multi-card reader, and a USB a couple of. Port.
The front does not have anything other than numerous status lights.
The suitable side functions and Express card slot, headphone, microphone, USB a couple of. port, Network port and lock slot region.
So, this netbook only has two USB 2. ports â but it does come packaged with a mini-express card which I do like the notion of.
