I installed the desktop version of ubuntu 10.04 on my netbook by mistake and was questioning how I could replace it with the netbook version just employing ubuntu.

Install the package ubuntu-netbook from your package manager or the command line making use of:
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-netbook
You could have to pick it from your login screen soon after it's installed.

go to Ubuntu software center and write ubuntu-netbook log out and instead of gnome select ubuntu netbook as your default
