ASUS Eee PC T101MT – Unboxing and First Impressions
Playlist: www.youtube.com Just received a brand new netbook-tablet convertible. It is the ASUS eee PC T101MT. It is running Windows 7 Starter at the moment, and I am planning to replace this with Windows 7 Ultimate, considering that Starter does not have multitouch capabilities. I'm also adding one more gig of RAM tomorrow and will be searching into either a hard drive-SSD hybrid or a accurate ssd drive. Here's the video of my 1st impressions. @FanGirlingFawn if you have a desktop, and chances are you have a router since you are on youtube, you can share your DVD Drive from the desktop or whatever computer running windows 7, and let it send the data over the router, It’ll be a bit slower, but hey its saving you money from buying an external Disc Drive, which is the whole purpose of this netbook, to save you that money…

@FanGirlingFawn Most, if not, all netbooks lack optical drives. The only way is either by downloading softwares from their own website or if it’s too big and only a CD/DVD can be used, then an external optical USB drive is necessary.

So…it doesn’t have an Optical Drive? How would you download or install programs you have on CDs?
October 3rd, 2011 - 20:51
@ResidentInsanity Although it doesn’t come with a restore disc, the hard drive has a partition use for such cases. This way if you need to reformat, you can just use this emergency restore image.

Very good review, informative.
I’ve been considering purchasing this netbook, but the fact that it doesn’t come with a recovery DVD is unsettling. Do you know if there Is a way to purchase or make one for it?

Super Netbook, guter Test aber ein bisschen zu förmlich finde ich…

@Leni1711
